Sue’s Mommy Blog – Remembering Poppy
She's the love of my life- fresh, funny, truly a wonderful little soul that brings me sunshine every day! She's NOW 12 and her life and what she does is just so funny, it’s too funny not to talk about or write about! It’s all about sharing our adventures with you. Time flies. Thanks for all of your advice through the years, Mom's we are never alone! I guess it should be "Sue's Mom Blog", since she's so grown up now, totally laughing out loud at that!
You, the best listeners in the world, have been right by our side. I can't thank you enough for all the emails and love you have given me and Abs through the years ...from her birth, all of her birthdays, all the happy and sad moments in our life and I can't "thank you" enough for being with us on this wonderful journey. Being a Mom is the greatest, most beautiful thing I could've ever asked for - even with all the girl drama!
Recently, as you know my Dad passed away, better known as "Poppy" to Abby. I wanted to share with you what Abby said at my Dad's Funeral Service. It was amazing, I had no clue she would want to get up in front of people. You've heard her on the radio, she's very shy in front of people. But she did it and I couldn't have been more prouder of her at that moment and the joy in my Mom's eyes was something I'll always remember.
This is what she said and she had it all written out:
I only think of happiness when I think of my Poppy. My favorite memory of Poppy is when we went to Disney - Poppy's car broke down, Poppy fell down and he was bleeding, we had to go the hospital and all of this happened and he was still smiling. When I was in 1st grade I wrote Poopy as an accident instead of Poppy, so I started calling him Poopy and we would always laugh about it. I love you Poopy.

I was so proud of her. She helped bring a smile to people's faces and I'm so happy that she had 12 great years with Poppy to enjoy happy times with him. I know Poppy will always be with her in her heart.
