Toms River Student Receives His Just Rewards

Just a week after graduating from Toms River High School North Joseph Elmo stopped by Gateway Toyota in Toms River to collect the $1000 scholarship he received as part of the WOBM/Gateway Toyota Student of the Week program.

Elmo, a straight “A” student who graduated in the top 3% of his class was randomly selected earlier this month from among the 38 high school seniors honored during the school year.

During his time at Toms River North he was a member of the National Honor Society, T.E.A.M. and Captain’s Crew along with the Marching Mariners Band (Drum Major), Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Sax Quarter and Concert Band.

Joseph will major in music education at Rowan University beginning this September.

WOBM’s Kevin Williams along with Gateway General Manager Rick Cardwell each presented Elmo with $500 from their respective companies. The auto dealership has been the exclusive sponsor of the Student of the Week program since its inception and will return for a 22nd year in September.
