The 90th Anniversary of the Strand Center for the Arts is being Celebrated with a Gala this October. Gala Committee Member and past President Glenn Harrison says the Gala is a way of sustaining the venue's rich history that dates back to 1922 when it opened as a Vaudeville Theater.  He says "we're happy to still be running as a not for profit theater that supplies, not just theater but dance, comedy, musical theater and education to the Ocean County people and to the surrounding areas."

Harrison says with the proceeds raised from the annual Gala "we really want to maintain this historical gem that we have and we want to continue to provide the artistic items that we've been able to provide over the years and we want to expand it more."

The committee is seeking Chefs from 10 to 15 restaurants that would be willing to participate in the Gala by showcasing their signature dishes, samples of one or two menu selections, the evening of October 30th. Strand Executive Director Camille Baimonte says participation comes with its benefits. "They would be recognized as a sponsor on our web site and through our social media publicity." Participating restaurants would also receive two complimentary tickets to the Gala.

Harrison says the Gala will also be honoring those who've helped support the Strand over the years.

Chefs interested in participating should contact Development Director Barbara Fedorchak at 732-367-7789 Ext. 217 or bfedorchak@strand.org by October 10th.
