31 year old Lieutenant Joe Randazzo and 22 year old volunteer firefighter Erin Phillips were riding on a 2009 Yamaha sport bike on Route 72 near Buzzard Hill Road in Woodland when Randazzo lost control of the bike and clipped another motorcycle reports WPVI TV. They were thrown from the motorcycle.

Their firehouse was called to respond to the accident but was quickly turned around when another fire company realized what had happened.

The flag is at half-staff for the loss of the firefighters. "As they say when it rains, it pours, and it's pouring on us right now," said Chief Craig Augustoni told WPVI TV. Phillips' parents and Erin' boyfrield are also volunteers at Browns Mills.

Erin and her boyfriend had a child within the past year.

"If I had to go to a fire with somebody, Joe Randazzo is one of the guys I would pick, and Erin was just one of the nicest girls you would meet," said Deputy Chief Dave Force. "She was everybody's big sister, little sister, and daughter around here."
