Special Festival This Coming Weekend In Lakewood
Bringing the community together. That’s the goal of this coming weekend’s special Festival in Lakewood Township.
Organizers are promising plenty of food, music and culture at the event. Ken Seda, the President of the Puerto Rican Civic Association of Central Jersey says “it’s more than just your regular pride day. We hope to bridge gaps and cut down barriers. We are teaming up with local students who are part of Students Against Violence Everywhere.”
This is the first year of the event and they hope it becomes an annual tradition. In addition to learning all about the culture, visitors will have a chance to sample Spanish cuisine, hear and dance to the music and spend the day with family.
Seda adds “It’s open to everyone and we want to see as many people as possible. The location is also important as there are several cultures living in Ocean County, especially Lakewood.”
The event takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Pine Park in Lakewood on County Line Road from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m.
