A South Toms River man has been arrested and charged with possession and dealing child porn after detectives with borough police and the Ocean County Prosecutors Office executed a search warrant on Friday.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced that Kevin Carrieri, 33, is charged with Distribution of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography and Endangering the Welfare of a Child to start with as detectives also found nearly 200 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at his home as well as brass knuckles.

In addition to the child porn offenses, Carrieri is being charged with Possession of Marijuana in an amount Greater than One Ounce but Less than Five Pounds with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana in an amount Greater than Fifty Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

This investigation stemmed from a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which identified a suspect in South Toms River as distributing child pornography and attempting to traffic a child for sex.

Today, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit and South Toms River Police Department executed a search warrant and seized a smart phone belonging to Carrieri which contained child pornography.

Carrieri was processed at South Toms River Police Headquarters and then transported to the Ocean County Jail where he is currently lodged pending a detention hearing.
