The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for extreme northwestern areas, where anywhere from four to eight inches is expected to fall. The snow also could mix with sleet and freezing rain at times.

Heavy rainfall will produce a threat of inland flash flooding across area creeks and streams with minor to moderate river flooding possible along main stem river. Minor coastal flooding is likely along the Atlantic Coast, Delaware Bay & Raritan Bay.    Moderate coastal flooding is possible.

Central and southern New Jersey could see between two and three inches of rain from the storm. A flood watch issued for those areas will likely be in effect through Thursday morning.

And if that isn’t enough, a high wind warning has been issued for most of the state, with gusts expected to reach as high as 50 mph.
After a respite Friday, snow may return to the area Saturday.
