Republicans and Democrats were briefed today on the Budget Address Christie will deliver at 3pm. Sources requesting anonymity say the Governor will project 5-percent growth in the economy in Fiscal Year 2014. He also plans to address the current budget shortfall by delaying property tax rebates.

Our sources say, in an effort to correct a roughly $500 million deficit, Christie will propose putting off property tax rebates from May until August. He's expected to focus heavily on rebuilding and recovering from super-storm Sandy and will tie in job creation to those efforts.

Christie will also announce the expansion of Medicaid according to the sources. That would save the state about $300 million because the federal government would absorb the cost of running portions of the program.

Changing the formula for funding hospitals is also is expected to be a topic, though the alterations are still unclear.

Most sources who spoke with us are calling Christie’s budget message, “safe.”

The Governor's office also released a preview video called "Saving Lives Lasts Forever" showing him visiting with Superstorm Sandy victims.
