Your safety is important, that's why The Ocean County Library is hosting a six-part public safety series by the Manchester Township Police beginning next week.

"Staying Safe in Manchester Township" is the presentation being given on Monday, June 2nd, from 6-8PM at 21 Colonial Drive. Chief of Police, Brian Klimakowski, will speak about the Division of Police.

Emergency services and public safety sessions will run monthly through November and it will teach residents how to remain alert to threats and crimes. Checking out the new equipment and technology will be an opportunity as well.

Other meetings will cover:

  • Monday, July 7th will discuss fire and medical emergencies and explain how Manchester's emergency response crews operate as well as how residents can keep themselves safe.
  • Monday, August 11th enforces school security and safety. Residents will learn how to prepare for potential intruders and what is being done to defeat bullying.
  • Crime prevention will be discussed on Monday, September 8th. This will teach locals how they can avoid being a victim of a scammer.
  • October 6th will talk about internet safety and how to prevent Cybercrimes and being cautious on Social Networking.
  • The last session will be held on November 17th. This will explain how to stay safe on the roads and how to prevent accidents.

Residents of all ages can attend. Registration for each session can be done by calling 732-657-7600 or by visiting the Ocean County LIbrary web page. A certificate of completion will be given to those who attend all meetings.
