The debate continues .... should minimum wage be increased to $15 an hour here in New Jersey? This week a Senate committee narrowly passed the bill (S15) a bill the full Assembly has already given thumbs up to. Under the legislation the minimum wage would gradually rise from $8.38 to $15 an hour by the year 2021.

The workers of the State feel they need the increase to keep up with rising costs of living in New Jersey ... While businesses (most small businesses) feel the increase in payroll will devastate their companies.

In a recent nj.com article ... Sen. Anthony Bucco (R-Morris), president of Baker Titan Adhesives, said lawmakers are chasing business out of New Jersey, and that if he were not a state senator he would "probably move my business to Pennsylvania." Democratic leaders have said they will attempt to place the measure on the fall 2017 ballot for voter approval if Christie vetoes the bill as expected, which would push back the timeline for hitting $15.

So our question to you is simple ... should New Jersey raise minimum wage to $15 an hour ?
