If you didn’t live in that home full-time you may have to look elsewhere for financial help to rebuild or repair.

In a conference call this afternoon, FEMA administrator Craig Fugate said, “Generally, vacation homes and other homes would not qualify for FEMA grants however Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans would be available.”

According to the SBA website, (sba.gov) Disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible up to $40,000 to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed personal property.
