Shoplifters hit Jackson jewelry outlet
Two men who allegedly looted a jewelry store in the Jackson Premium Outlets for merchandise worth about $35,000 Saturday afternoon are being sought by township police.
Officers were summoned to the Zales outlet at 4:24 PM, according to information on the Jackson Police Facebook page. The suspects are believed to have scooped rings from a display case while the sales clerk attending them turned attention to another customer.
They are descibed as middle-aged black men with stocky builds. The one suspected of taking the jewelry is described ashaving worn gold-colored glasses, a gray jacket and blue jeans.
Police offered no details about the number of customers and workers in the shop at the time, whether a weapon was involved or implied, or how they left the store and the mall.
Jackson police will accept confidential tips about the shoplifting incident at 732-928-1111.
