Berkeley Police have captured suspect Christopher Page in the stabbing of an employee of the Bayville ShopRite on Route 9 Friday.

34 year old Page was taken in custody shortly after 10am this morning between South Main Steet and Water Steet in Berkeley.

Page is charged with attempted murder of 37 year old Noah Jackson, as well as possession of a weapon and using a weapon with unlawful purposes. Bail was set at $500,000.

Jackson remains in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Jackson  was allegedly stabbed between checkout lanes 1 and 3 by 34 year old Page of Bayville around noon Friday.

The store was temporarily closed and Jackson was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was treated for serious stab wounds.

Karen Meleta, spokesperson for the store says Jackson was on his shift during the attack.

Berkeley Police Sergeant Smith says when police arrived at the scene they found the Jackson wounded.

"When arriving officers got here they found a victim lying on the floor in need of police assistance." says Smith.
