Lakewood Car Crash Not Caused by Shooting
The man who was believed to have crashed his car after being shot while driving in Lakewood on Monday was not shot after all.
Police initially believed the 25-year-old's injuries might have been a gunshot wound, but doctors have determined that the laceration was caused by flying debris during the accident. Investigators say the man crashed his car into a parked vehicle in an Oberlin Avenue parking lot, then was struck by his own vehicle after he got out without putting the car in park.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
