Three people were shot in Long Branch Wednesday night, according to city police.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Coleman Avenue, between Joline Avenue (Route 36) and Pacific Avenue, according to the Asbury Park Press.

An Elberon First Aid Squad member who responded to the shooting, told the Asbury Park Press the victim had two gunshot wounds to his back and was conscious and alert while being placed into an ambulance. The other two victims are expected to be okay, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities aren't releasing any other information to avoid jeopardizing the probe.
