Patricia Kelly was diagnosed with leukemia in December. Doctors gave her three to six months, and she had a last wish - to visit Ship Bottom Beach one more time.

Kelly's weakened state left her unable to walk, so Ship Bottom Police Officer Ronald Holloway drove her down the beach in a police SUV.

Kelly's son contacted the Ship Bottom PD about the request. He took to Facebook to applaud the department and Officer Holloway:

About a week ago I contacted the Ship Bottom Police with a request of help.... I spoke to Linda who was very kind and helpful in organizing this. I explained to her that we were trying to find a way to get our terminally ill mother, mom mom and friend to the beach for her last hurrah. She returned my call to say her Sargent said they can help make this happen! That they did! A BIG SHOUT OUT to Officer Ronald Holloway ....he is a man who not only protects and serves but genuinely cares...his extraordinary kindness and character speaks volumes of the man he is. He is a true assets to your department. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ship Botton Police Department!!! Chief Sharkey Ronald Holloway is a true assets to the men of blue. You will all hold a very special place in our hearts for giving Pat her final ride on the Ship Bottom Beach a place near and dear to her. We spent this past weekend celebrating the life of Patricia Kelly of Burlington New Jersey .
