Shawn & Sue’s Ocean County Pet of the Week-Meet Bernie

Bernie's story is heartbreaking!  He needs a forever home.

It's difficult standing by, watching a dog that was a beloved pet, stare and cry as their owners walk out the door. It's hard to imagine what they're feeling and we do everything in our power to let them know that eventually, everything will be alright. Such was the case when Bernie arrived. At 6 years old, he was turned in because his owner had to move to a place where Bernie wasn't allowed. Going from a home that you've been in for your whole life to an unfamiliar place is difficult, but Bernie is making the best of it and hoping that he will get discovered quickly by a wonderful family. Bernie is a boxer/bloodhound mix and this gentleman is so easy going, mellow, and easy to get along with. Bernie is so well behaved and is housebroken, walks perfectly on a leash, offers you a paw shake for a treat and is just an all-around great guy. He gets along just fine with dogs, cats, and kids, and is so friendly and mild-mannered. Please don't pass Bernie over because of his graying face.....he's got plenty of spunk and energy, and is at the perfect age where he's content to go for a walk or take a snooze next to you on the couch. Either way, he's just happy to be with you. If you can give our beautiful Bernie the lifetime of happiness that he deserves, please come in and meet this handsome boy.
