This handsome and soulful boy is Bear, a 6 year old golden retriever/shepherd mix that is hoping to get noticed by a wonderful family and into a great home real soon. Bear was turned in by his family due to circumstances beyond their control. Bear did nothing wrong, but just couldn't stay with his family any longer. He was understandably a bit depressed when he first arrived but Bear is not one to sit around and sulk, and he is now ready to meet new friends and move on with his life. Bear is well behaved and very polite. He has had quite a bit of training in his day and will sit, heel, lay down, offer you a pawshake in friendship, you name it. He has a little spunk in his step when he's off the leash in our exercise yard and would enjoy a game of fetch every now and then. Bear is a little shy when he meets new people but once he has a minute or two to check you out, he loosens up considerably and bonds with you quickly. He is a bit apprehensive and anxious around children so he will need a home with no kids under 10. Bear has lived with both dogs and cats and was fine with them. He would only get tense with the other dog over eating so if you feed separately, you will keep the peace! Please consider opening your heart and home to our beautiful boy, Bear.
