Senior Health and Wellness Fair Tomorrow In Ocean County

Are you 65 or over?  Do you have concerns about your health?  Are you hitting brick walls?  A special senior health and wellness fair will take place tomorrow in Berkeley Township, Ocean County, that could be a big help.

3rd District Congressman Jon Runyan is hosting the event which will bring several department and organizations together under one roof.  Some of them include Community Medical Center, Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center and even the Social Security Administration and the Ocean County Department for Senior Services.

Runyan says "often times, a lack of information can be frustrating.  We always hear from people that they know their options but when they try to get the help they need, they end up in that endless carousel of phone calls and voice mailboxes.  We want to stop that and give everyone a chance to get the one on one help they deserve."

The event takes place inside the Berkeley Township Recreation Center on Route 9 in Bayville from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  During that four hours, the hospitals will be providing free screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, body mass index, bone density screenings, cholesterol screening and even a stroke risk score card.
