You're invited to the Toms River Senior Center tomorrow for a special hearing and presentation on the 2013-2015 Ocean County Area Plan Contract.

The Ocean County Office of Senior Services serves as the focal point where older adults and their families can turn to for information regarding the many programs and services the County has to offer.  The aging services plan includes 50 programs with 22 service providers and is expected to serve about 32,000 people.

Ocean County continues to be the leading location in the state for senior citizens.  The population of older adults continues to grow each year and so do their needs.

Senior Services Director Jane Maloney says "we have about $5.3 million dollars in federal, state and county funding available to us.  We want to hear from you.  What are your needs?  What is it we can do better or do more of?  This is really a great opportunity for you to take the floor and tell us."

A copy of the 2013-2015 area plan contract summary is available  at the office by calling 732-929-2091 or they can give you one at the hearing.  A summary of the contract is available on the county website,

Maloney says "we will still be offering our wellness programs, our meals on wheels, and other in-home and outside care programs."

If you can't make the meeting, you're urged to call the office.

The hearing takes place at noon at the Senior Center on Garfield Avenue.
