Growing up in a small rowhome in Queens, I didn't have much storage space.  Each bedroom had a small closet.  It was never enough to hold both summer and winter items so my family always did the seasonal swap.  Is it just a New York thing or do you put your off-season stuff in storage bins too?

It's a ritual I actually look forward to.  Twice a year I sift through my clothes and decide what to donate and what to pack away for the following year.  Then I pull out the items that will make their way into my closet and dresser.  It takes some time, but I always enjoy the process.  Maybe it's a way to keep an old family tradition alive.

Do you pack away your clothes when the seasons change?  Are all your summer items at the ready?  If not, when will you do your seasonal switch?
