Yes, this article is about a car.

You always remember your first car.

While the vehicle in the picture above wasn't, technically, my very first car, it was the first car that I picked out, paid for, and did it all by myself.

This past weekend, I said goodbye to my 2007 Pontiac G5 GT, better known as "Oswald".

I wasn't necessarily planning to do it this soon, but he was getting up there - with 150,000 miles, and a couple of issues here and there that needed to be taken care of.

He was a great car. He was definitely a "me" car. Everyone knew my car (I mean, it is kind of hard to miss an orange sports car). It was fun to drive and it was the perfect car for that time in my life.

But, with the age, mileage, and small issues, I decided that it was time to trade in the ostentatious orange 2-door for a "big boy car".

It was the perfect car for that time in my life. But I'm 8 years older now and I thought that my vehicle should reflect that.

I'd been thinking about a few vehicles for a little while, and on Saturday I pulled the trigger.

Let me introduce you to Bertram:

Bertram is a 2014 Buick Verano Turbo.

I never really thought of myself as a Buick person, but they've been trying hard to appeal to a wider audience lately, and I think that the Verano (especially the Turbo) really shows that.

It's definitely not your grandparents' huge Buick from 30 years ago.

I've only had him for two full days now, but so far I'm a fan. He's definitely a zippy car, and the options are great.

I'll always have fond memories of Oswald. And it definitely was a little sad to leave him behind when I left the dealership on Saturday. But I think it was time, and so far I think I made the right choice.

So what was the first car that you really had affection for and remember fondly? Tell us in the comments!
