As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~ John F. Kennedy

Veterans Day was created to honor and pay respect to all the men and women that have served our great nation. Veterans Day was originally called "Armistice Day" and was first celebrated November 11, 1919 on the first anniversary of the end of World War I. However it was not until 1926 that Congress passed a resolution to observe Veterans Day and it became a national holiday in 1938. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the appropriate legislation to have the name changed ( To Veterans Day ) to ensure every individual that served in all American wars would be celebrated.

Say "Thank You" to a Veteran in your life. Post your thanks in the comments section below. We will be sure to read each and every one of them during the morning show on Veterans Day!
