Save A Pet, Get Free Haircuts For A Year!

As if you needed any more motivation to save an animal in need, a local salon is rewarding new pet parents with free haircuts for a year!

I was getting my hair cut at Sophia's Roots, on Route 9 in Bayville, this morning when I noticed this sign:

As you can see from the sign, all you have to do is stop by and see our friends at Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River, rescue a dog, and you'll be rewarded with free haircuts at Sophia's for the next year!

Owner Sophia Webber told me that the idea is to help offset the adoption fees and the cost of things like food and day to day care by giving new pet parents a service that they would pay for anyway.

All you have to do is bring in your adoption certificate, and they'll set up your next year of appointments right there (although, with a salon full of dog lovers, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you brought in your new family member for a visit!).

By the way, this isn't just for dogs, either! Folks who bring home a cat from Popcorn Park will get 6 months of free service, too!

It's an awesome way to encourage pet adoption right here locally by a business right in the heart of Ocean County!
