The jolly old elf, with an assist from Chief Mitch Little and his elves, delivered gifts and good cheer to Children's Specialized Hospital and Community Medical Center in the township Thursday.

Each year, officers spend about a month preparing for the special mission to spread joy among children battling health problems, and their families.

Police collected more than $4,000 in cash and toys, and supplied restaurant gift cards for parents.

Toms River Police send a message of gratitude to everyone who, without thought of recognition or compensation, took the trouble to give the children a holiday they won't soon forget.

Below is the November episode of WOBM-AM's "Townsquare Tonight" feaaturing Chris Nolze, a onetime occupant of a bed at Children's Specialized Hospital, who now works tirelessly on their behalf through his foundation, Chris's Fight For A Cure.
