The  blaze in the three-story house at 647 Bayview Drive in the Silverton Section of the Township was reported shortly before 2:00 a.m., according to the Ocean Signal.

Members of the Silverton Fire Company also extinguished flames that spread to the attic of a home at 641 Bayview Drive and a piling and deck system under construction at an adjoining property of the three-story home.

The Toms River Public Works Department was called in to help remove layers of debris so firefighters could douse hidden pockets of flames. Firefighters remained on the scene Sunday to monitor for any flare-ups.

An investigation into the cause and origin of the fire will be conducted by Inspector Dominick Roselli of the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
