The lawsuit filed Friday by the man, called Victim 1 at Sandusky’s trial, said Penn State officials made deliberate decisions not to report Sandusky to authorities. The suit said their behavior showed they thought more about the school’s reputation and economic interests than the safety of children.

Sandusky awaits sentencing after being convicted in June of 45 criminal counts for sexual abuse of boys, both on and off campus. The victim goes by “John Doe C” in the lawsuit. The suit names no other defendants. University spokesman Dave La Torre said the school has no comment.
