Two people were ejected from a van in Toms River early Thursday morning that veered off Raleigh Drive, rolled over and onto the front lawn of a home at the intersection of Duke Court, according to authorities.

Township Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said it happened shortly after 5 AM.

Cody Diaz, 21, of Toms River, was behind the wheel. Matthew Diaz, 25, also of Toms River was the front seat passenger. Kevin Murray, 21, of Beachwood, was seated between them on a bucket, police said.

Cody Diaz and Murray were catapulted out of the van when it flipped, police said. They are listed in critical condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Matthew Diaz is under care for lesser injuries at Community Medical Center in Toms River, police said.

Investigators are still poring over details to determine the cause of the crash, and have not determined whether charges are to ensue, police said.
