John Geils, the guitarist and namesake of the J. Geils Band, has died. He was 71. Geils was found Tuesday at his Massachusetts home. Police do not suspect foul play. Among those sharing condolences on social media is E Street guitarist, Stevie Van Zandt:

Also being remembered is David Letterman's mother, Dorothy Mengering. The 95-year-old had been a fan favorite on her son's late night show, baking mystery pies in Indiana. She also covered 3 different winter Olympics. Dorothy's Tuesday death came a day before Letterman marks his 70th birthday.
