Authorities are still seeking information leading to an arrest and conviction in the September 20, 2016 assault on Long Branch Police Officer Michael Monahan.

The incident is getting renewed attention and awareness after the New Jersey State PBA announced reward money has been increased to $30,000 thanks to an additional $5,000 from Long Branch resident Vin Gopal.

Monahan was knocked unconscious during a foot pursuit on abandoned property at the corner of Bath and Westwood Avenues. He's still recovering from head and neck injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Long Branch Police Detective Joe Spitale at 732-222-1000. The rewards will be given for information which leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of any suspect(s) in the assault.
