Emergency crews arrived on scene around 7 pm on June 13 and immediately looked for anyone inside and found a man lying unconscious.

The resident later regained consciousness and was treated on the scene by the Beachwood First Aid Squad.

Officers weren't able to initially head right back in as heavy smoke and heat conditions began to worsen.

Nobody else was in the home at the time of the blaze.

The Beachwood Fire Department was able to put out the fire.

Officials credit quick response by emergency crews in avoiding further property damage and saving the residents life inside.
