I've always felt that the world would be a better place if everyone were required to a) go to therapy and 2) get regular massages.  Today I want to focus on that second item.  I treat myself to a 90 minute session every January.  It's my birthday gift to myself.  Then I'll usually go two more times during the year.  Laying on that table allows me to relax, while a professional literally works out the knots that have accumulated from stress and hours at the computer.  I feel better for days afterwards.  And I even notice fewer wrinkles and a bit of a glow in my face after a massage (I don't have any scientific proof of those benefits...I'm just telling you what I see.)

I had never known about massage until age 30.  Newly divorced, a spa day felt like a nice way to mark the milestone birthday and ring in a new chapter of my life.  From that day, I was hooked!

Now, one thing I've noticed, is that a lot of my "mom" friends don't pamper themselves. They're too busy taking care of everyone else!  While I don't have the means to "gift" all of you a spa day, my wish for you is that you'll take some time out just for yourself.

Ladies, this might be a great time to drop a Mother's Day hint that you'd love a massage, pedicure, or facial.  If that sort of gift isn't possible, maybe you can buy one of those neck or back massagers they sell, or buy yourself a nice facial mask or pretty new nail polish.

Experts say that in order to be a good caregiver, you have to care for yourself.  You can't give to others if you're running on empty, right?  So I hope you'll use this time before Mother's Day to relax and recharge your batteries.  Here are some tips from a website I like, "MindBodyGreen."  http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-14301/27-simple-ways-to-recharge-your-batteries.html
