The Lakewood Scoop reports the driver told officials he had been informed of a recall due to a steering issue, but was unable to have it repaired because the shop was out of the part.  The vehicle crashed into a utility pole and overturned near the intersection of Lanes Mill Road and Newport Drive around 6pm Friday.

The driver suffered only minor injuries, but area residents reported a power outage that lasted until 10am Saturday.
