Ready-Set-Go PARCC Test

Here's a teacher in Ohio talking about the PARCC test.

This is the blog I've been waiting to do.  My daughter is in 3rd grade and I'm not sure what to think of these tests.  Our schools will start testing here soon throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties. 

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a consortium of states that collaboratively developed a common set of assessments to measure student achievement and preparedness for college and careers.  It is a computer based test, it's all done on the computer.  College..should I be worried about that yet for 3rd grade?  It's a test in school grades 3rd through 12th.

I want your opinion on these tests.  Are schools starting to young with 3rd grade.  Is it money just wasted?  Will it help our children at all?  Opting out of the test is another option if your district allows.
