The Ocean Signal reports that at the latest council meeting, M&M Realty Partners presented plans for The Marketplace at Forge Pond that are similar to Pier Village in Long Branch. M+M's lawyer Bob Smith says there is no hotel/conference center because studies by both M+M and the Township concluded that would be economically unfeasible.

The plan includes 72 apartments on top of  31,268 square feet of retail space in a three-story building at the front of the property and 192 condominiums in the rear.

An agreement on a three-acre easement for property owned by the New Jersey Department of Transportation along Route 70 still needs to be worked out.

Since Sandy hit, the property has been used by FEMA for debris removal.  They are now looking to secure approvals for the space that would feature retail space and apartments.
