Princeton Police are warning residents to watch for two separate bears spotted in the town on Saturday.

Sergeant Michael R. Cifelli says the bears were spotted in the 200 block of Mt. Lucas Road and other in the 900 block of Stuart Road on Saturday. There was also a sighting on the campus of Princeton University on Saturday morning.

There were no additional sightings on Saturday afternoon.

It was the latest in a series of bear sightings in the Princeton area. On Monday a bear was spotted at the Village Elementary School in Montgomery and another in the Mountainview section of Ewing according to Planet Princeton.

In Princeton a black bear was seen on Arreton Road at Route 206 on Thursday and also in a yard in the Woods Edge housing development in Montgomery

Animal Control and the New Jersey Division of Wildlife Management have both been contacted along with the Princeton Animal Control Officer.

Cifelli says no one should approach or feed the bears. If you see the bears remain calm and make the bear aware of your presence by speaking in an assertive voice, singing, clapping your hands, or making other noises.  He says the bear should also have an escape route.

Residents should also noitfy police if you see either of the bears by calling 9-1-1.
