Ocean County Prosecutors are looking for witnesses of a hit and run driver that left a pedestrian lying on the ground injured near Central Avenue in Seaside Heights Sunday night.

Investigators say the pedestrian was walking along Sheridan Avenue when she was hit by a Black Dodge Ram and thrown about 20-feet north on Central Avenue before Seaside Heights Police arrived on the scene around 10:49 pm.

The subsequent investigation by Seaside Heights PD, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Ocean County Sheriff's Department CIU discovered that the Black Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Central Avenue approaching the intersection of Sheridan Avenue.

As the driver exited the intersection the vehicle struck Danielle Cangelosi, 25, of Kingston, New York who was walking eastbound on Sheridan Avenue.

Cangelosi was tossed about 20 feet north on Central Avenue from the impact.

The Black Dodge Ram then left the scene continuing northbound on Central Avenue.

Cangelosi was transported to Community Medical Center for undisclosed injuries.

The only further description regarding the Black Dodge Ram is a partial NJ license plate with the letters 'TJ'.

Anyone with information, or witnesses of the accident, is asked to contact the Seaside Heights Police Department at 732-793-1800 or the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office at 732-929-2027 Extension 3257.
