Human Service Police have located the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital patient who escaped from the facility yesterday.

Ewing Police Department announced on social media Sunday around 4:30 p.m. that Human Services Police had found Tyrik Haynes.

"Tyrik Haynes, the male who was reported to have walked away from the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital yesterday, was located by Human Services Police," Ewing Police Department said in a Facebook post.

"Due to the ongoing investigation by Human Services Police, they did not provide much more information other than the fact that he was located outside of Ewing Township," the statement said.

Haynes, 22, was indicted for stabbing a woman he did not know at a Bed, Bath and Beyond store in Middletown in 2013. He was 19 at the time. The victim, who was pushing a baby carriage, was stabbed several times.

When Ewing Police issued the alert to residents Saturday they said, "This individual should be considered dangerous, and if seen please call 911 immediately.”

None of the statements about Hayne's escape or capture say how he was able to leave the facility.
