The "bicycle bank bandit" we told you about earlier this week who fled on a bike after robbing a TD Bank in Point Pleasant Borough Sunday and was arrested Monday is being charged for another heist.

Monmouth County Prosecutors linked 31-year old David Mitchell to a robbery at the Ocean First Bank on State Highway 71 in Spring Lake Heights Monday afternoon around 3:55 pm.

Mitchell was arrested a short time later by a Neptune City officer who was returning from a training session and had been driving through Belmar at the time he heard the dispatch call.

He's been charged with second degree Robbery in connection with a robbery of the Ocean First Bank in Spring Lake Heights on Monday.

Mitchell was also charged with another second degree count of Robbery in connection with a robbery at the TD Bank in Point Pleasant Borough on Sunday.

Sergeant Michael Matunas from the Spring Lake Heights Police Department and Detective Adam Hess of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office handled the investigation.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
