PHOTOS: Blood red supermoon shines over New Jersey
The clouds parted around parts of New Jersey to allow the bright, rare combination supermoon and blood moon to be seen — though not for everyone
The moon was at its closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it a so-called “supermoon." There was also a lunar eclipse that turned the moon a shade of red.

Tonight's Blood Moon was a challenge, we had a few light clouds from time to time but the effort was rewarded.
