Perth Amboy Man Charged with Underage Sex Assault in South Toms River

The alleged sexual assault of two girls aged 11 and 14 in South Toms River leads investigators to a Perth Amboy 42-year-old who investigators say was known to both of them.

Fernando Madrigal is charged with aggravated sexual assault and two counts each of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Middlesex authorities have filed additional charges related to a sexual attack on an underage victim in Perth Amboy.

Investigators from the Ocean and Middlesex Prosecutor's offices and police from Perth Amboy and South Toms River conducted the probe that begain October 9.

Madrigal was apprehended at about 11:30 AM Wednesday at his Perth Amboy dwelling, and sent to the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of bail, which was set at $570,000 with no option for release on payment of 10 percent. He is also ordered to have no contact with the victims under terms of Nicole's Law.
