Police arrested the 15-year-old girl and charged her with weapons counts and aggravated assault. She was released to her parents and will face a future court date, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The chemical can cause breathing difficulty and throat and eye irritation. All of the students were treated and released, according to authorities.

It's unclear whether the incident was a prank, but the District has a zero tolerance policy, according to school officials.

The incident remains under investigation.
