A pedestrian had to be flown to the hospital after being struck on Route 9 in Berkeley Township near Trinity Methodist Church Wednesday night, according to authorities.

Responding units found the unidentified man shortly after 7:30 p.m. semiconscious, laying in the road, bleeding from the head and face, according to a press release on the Berkeley Police Facebook page.

Authorities said a Crest Dry Cleaners van hit the man, who appeared to be standing in the middle of the road, based on a preliminary investigation of eyewitnesses.

The victim was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
