Pedestrian Struck in Lakewood

A teenager reportedly was seriously injured after being struck by a motorist in Lakewood Tuesday night near the intersection of Routes 9 and 88, according to The Lakewood Scoop.

It happened around 8 p.m. Officials told TLS the boy suffered a severe head injury after landing on the windshield. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

The driver remained on the scene, according to NJ.com. Route 9 was partially shut-down for the investigation.

Lakewood's Traffic & Safety division is investigating.
