NJ Transit spokesman William Smith said the man made no attempt to move, according to NJ.com.

The North Jersey Coast train was heading to Long Branch and hadn't completely pulled away from the station when the unidentified man was struck. He was being treated at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for head and torso trauma, according to Smith.

None of the 35 passengers and crew aboard the train were injured. They were transported on NJ Transit buses.
