NEWARK — A woman was killed crossing a street during a police pursuit on Saturday night.

Two men who stole a Jeep Cherokee carjacked a Ford Taurus in East Orange, according to acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino, and Newark police officers began a pursuit of the Jeep as it was thought to have been involved in a shooting shooting.

The Jeep hit another car during the pursuit forcing it into parked cars around 10:45 p.m., according to Laurino. Priscilla Goday, 29, of Newark became pinned as she walked between two of the cars that were struck. Laurino said Goday was taken to University Hospital where she passed away at midnight.

Laurino said no one has been arrested in connection with the case.
