Emil Matti pitched a complete game and Bener Uygun hit a solo homer to lead  Par Troy West Little League team of Parsippany over Newark National of Delaware 1-0 to win the Little League Mid-Atlantic Regional final at Breen Field in Bristol, Connecticut.

They’ll take on McAllister Park National of San Antonio Texas, the Southwest Regional winner, Friday afternoon. The tournament consists of 16 teams – eight from the United States and eight international.

They are the second New Jersey team to reach the Little League World Series, joining Toms River in 2010.

“It’s awesome,” Daniel Ruggiero told the New York Post before Sunday’s game.  His father Michael is the team’s coach and has been managing the same group of players for the past 5 years.

The Ruggiero family–Mike, Daniel and older brothers Evan and Matthew have been down this road before, but all the way to Williamsport.

The Par-Troy players, already won their program’s first 12-year-old state title.

The game will air on ESPN3.
