Driver error has been ruled out as causing the crash.

WCAU TV reports that a State Police investigation shows the nuts came off the rear drivers side tire of the  bus carrying 36 Charter Tech students on November 12.

The bus was failed during an inspection by the The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission because of worn tires. The tires were changed and the bus was put back into service by the Safety Bus company.

Driver Christine Williams, who has a clean driving record, is being credited for steering the bus into the woods along the Parkway around milepost 34 in Little Egg Harbor and out of harm's way.
