Police found the vehicle still in drive and were able to put the car into park and discovered Stein was unresponsive to one of the sergeants commands.

Following this police found an uncapped hypodermic syringe on Stein's lap and additional police officers on scene shortly thereafter to assist with the investigation.

Stein was found in possession of heroin along with the syringe and other drug paraphernalia and was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and had a warrant for his arrest.

The driver was then brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for a medical evaluation and once cleared was brought in handcuffs back to the police station where he was processed.

After Stein was charged he was released on his own recognizance but was then brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution after defaulting on his warrant of $1,000.
