Ocean Township Braces for Bamboozle

With a tremendous three-day musicfest about to take place next door in Asbury Park, Ocean Township is forming plans for Bamboozle traffic and crowd control.

Police are advising residents to avoid the township's southernmost sections if possible from Friday afternoon through Sunday night, and to be ready for traffic diversions, road closures and abnormally heavy volume on local roads.

Parking will be banned on Sunset Avenue east of Wickapecko Drive to the Asbury border; Edgewood Avenue; Woodlock Avenue; Camp Avenue; Wannamassa Place; Wannamassa Point Road; and North and South Wannamassa Drive, east of Edgewood Avenue.

If police deem it necessary to thin out the crowds at 11 PM each night when performances end, they'll route drivers from westbound Sunset Avenue to northbound Route 35. Westbound Asbury Avenue drivers may be diverted from northbound 35 to westbound Route 66. Southbounders on 35 will be sent to westbound 66 at the Asbury Circle.
